About Maya Collection
The Maya Collection is a non profit small business which employs, empowers and encourages refugee women living in Louisville, Ky. This small business started in 2009, with volunteers that helped a group of refugee women to knit and sell scarves in local markets. Over the last eleven years we have grown and expanded our handcrafted products to include jewelry, hand bags, leather goods, embroidery and more. We have empowered over 75 refugee women to become artisans. Our product line is now in several of the finest boutiques in Louisville as well as sold online and at artisan markets. We have learned much from our refugee friends who now have become our sisters!
